Matthew Fuller, Dubbo, 35 – 40, General Manager Taronga Western Plains Zoo.
The first time Matthew Fuller moved to Dubbo it was for the job or a lifetime at Taronga Western Plains Zoo. The second time it was more about the city, the lifestyle on offer, the people, and the opportunity to return to the job he loved.
“Home is five minutes from work, and work is five minutes from home!” said Matthew.
“And managing one of the world’s best Zoos means no one day is ever the same.”
At a time in his life when starting a family and settling down was high on his list of priorities, Matthew found he couldn’t go past Dubbo as the city to raise his family and feels people should be open-minded about moving to a regional centre.
“Housing is extremely affordable, there are plenty of opportunities for recreation and the people are very friendly, family-oriented and have a strong sense of community.”
“People often underestimate the work available, the ability to study and to forge a career,” said Matthew.
“My advice would be don’t - The opportunities are there for the taking.”

“I have made the big move from the Gold Coast and since Monday now a Dubbo local. I really love it here and looking forward to becoming part of the community. I appreciated the information sent prior and the Evocities website, it was very informative and helpful and definitely assisted me with making the decision to move. I would love to attend the next new resident social evening. “
