Orange is now home to a new state of the art hospital and world-class mental health facilities. The facility opened its doors on 16 March 2011. The medical facility is surrounded by Bloomfield Park and Recreation grounds, a green oasis. The hospital experience couldn't get much better!
Orange is fast becoming a hub of medical and health expertise outside of Sydney. The region is experiencing a boom in medical and health based employment initatives, a growing expert knowledge-base and a hospital set to attract medical students from across the globe. Each year, Orange Health Service treats more than 27,000 people in its emergency department, delivers more than 6,000 emergency and planned surgical procedures, provides 65,000 outpatient services and assists with the birth of more than 900 babies. The new hospital and resources will mean patients can be admitted from the emergency department for the surgery more efficiently, and will improve the hospital’s overall capacity and the experience for patients.
The Orange Health Service is a major rural referral health service providing a range of services. We have emergency services, general and specialist medical and surgical inpatient and outpatient services including interventional cardiology, maternity services, paediatric services, rehabilitation services, cancer care services, renal dialysis services and associated diagnostic services. Visiting specialists are welcomed to the region.
